CRICKET TEAM

INTRODUCTION

The Bangladesh
National Cricket
Team is a national
cricket team
representing
Bangladesh. The team is
administered by the
Bangladesh Cricket
Board (BCB).
Bangladesh is a full
member of the
International Cricket
Council (ICC).
HISTORY
The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) tour of Bangladesh
during the winter of 1976/77 marked the entrance of
Bangladesh into international cricket.

In 1977, Bangladesh became an Associate member of


the International Cricket Council (ICC).Bangladesh was
one of fifteen teams to take part in the inaugural ICC
Trophy.

In 1979, ICC gave non-Test playing countries the


opportunity to qualify for that year's World Cup.

Victory in the South-East Asian Cricket Conference


Tournament in February 1984 ensured Bangladesh
qualified for the 1986 Asia Cup.
On 31 March 1986, Bangladesh played their first One Day
International against a full member of the ICC.

Bangladesh qualified for the 1988 Asia Cup, this time


hosting the tournament; it was the first time ODIs had
been staged in the country.

Bangladesh took part in each of the 1982, 1986, 1990, and


1994 editions of the ICC Trophy, and won the trophy in
1997, in the process qualifying for the 1999 World Cup.

In 1999, Bangladesh played its first World Cup in England.

It played its first Test match in 2000


(againstIndiaatDhaka), becoming the tenth Test cricket
playing nation.

On 31 March 1986, Bangladesh
played in its first ODI match against
Pakistan in the 1986 Asia Cup
TEST STATUS GRANTED

Bangladesh
received its
Test status from
the
International
Cricket Council
in 2000,which
is a
requirement for
the countries to
play Test

DEBUT IN TEST CRICKET

On 13
November
2000,
Bangladesh
played their
inaugural Test
match, hosting
India in Dhaka
becoming the
tenth test
cricket paying
nation.
DEBUT IN T20 CRICKET
Bangladesh played their 1st T20 match against
Zimbabwe on 28th November 2006.

BANGLADESH'S MAIDEN
TEST VICTORY

Bangladesh ended a four-year wait for their


maiden Test victory as they secured a 226-run
win over Zimbabwe.

ODI VICTORY
Bangladesh defeated Pakistan 1999 Cricket World Cup.
On 31 May 1999, Bangladesh won their first One Day
International against a full member of the ICC.

WON ICC TROPHY
Bangladesh won the 1997
ICC Trophy in Malaysia. By
winning the tournament,
Bangladesh qualified for
the 1999 Cricket World
Cup for the first time,
where they defeated
Pakistan, creating one of
the biggest upsets in their
cricketing history and also
defeated Scotland. In
1997, Bangladesh became
a regular ICC member with
the right to play ODIs. It
attained the status of a
Test playing nation on 26
June 2000.

WORLD CUP
WORLD CUP CRICKET 2011
The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup was the tenth Cricket World Cup. It
was played in India, Sri Lanka, and (for the first time) Bangladesh.
The opening ceremony was held
on 17 February 2011 at
Bangabandhu National Stadium,
Dhaka,and the tournament was
played between 19 February and
2 April. The first match was
played by the Indian and
Bangladeshi teams at the Sher-
e-Bangla National Stadium in
Mirpur, Dhaka. The final was
between India and Sri Lanka at
Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Bangladesh could beat
England another giant
champion team. But they
were defeated by South
Africa and West indies with a
very poor score.

Shakib Al Hasan number
one top all rounder
ranking . Shakib is the
best and classical cricket
player in ODI & Test of
Bangladesh Cricket Team.
From January 2009 to
Shakib Al Hasan number
one top all rounder April
2011 and again from
March 2012, Shakib was
ranked first amongst ODI
all-rounders by the ICC. In
December 2011, he
became the world's top-
ranked Test all-rounder.
