When organization do not have departmental
affiliation but function immediately to
undertake broad organization level process
improvement
They are typically composed of 5 to 12
employees from the same department who
meet for a few hours each week to discuss
ways of improving quality, efficiency, and the
work environment.
In problem-solving teams, members share
ideas or offer suggestions on how work
process and methods can be improved. Rarely,
however, are these teams given the authority
to unilaterally implement any of their
suggested actions
Self Managed Team

It is a formal mature group of employees who


work without a supervisory personnel and
responsible for a complete work package.
They are generally composed of 10 to 15
people who take on the responsibilities of
their former supervisors. Typically, these
responsibilities include:
a) Collective control over the pace of work,
b) Determination of work assignments,
c) Organization of breaks, and
d) Collective choice of inspection procedures
used.
Fully self-managed teams select their own
members, and the members evaluate each
others performance. As a result, supervisory
positions take on decreased importance and
may even be eliminated
Cross Departmental Or Functional Team

Cross functional team are basically to


study,analyse,and offer solution that they are
required to implement.
Here it cannot divert the responsibility on others.
It means to manage social collaboration and concept
creation.
It is a small group of interdependent employees from
various functional areas of organization .
It is formed to handle a specific problem.
Cross-functional teams are an effective means
of allowing people from diverse areas within
an organization to exchange information,
develop new ideas, solve problems, and
coordinate complex projects.
The general goals of using cross-functional
team include some combination of innovation,
speed and quality that come from early
coordination among the various specialties

such team becomes essential when the organization.
Struggle with a problem that impacts many section
of the organization
Need to improve the operation or system of process,
demanding close coordination from more that one
section or department.
It require simultaneous application of multifarious
skills, expertise, and judgment of person from
different section (crossing the boundaries) to
accomplish the goal.
Virtual team
A virtual team allows the member to meet without
concern for space or time and enables organization
to link the workforce together which could not have
been done in past.
This type of team members are advance in
technology, achieve business goal, solve day to day
problem, provide feedback, keep all member aware,
share success, encourage achievement and so forth.
Geographic dispersion never appears as a roadblock.
