1 Blood banks MLT are often distracted from performing URGENT lab works by
answering unnecessary calls from the hospital staff enquiring blood products
availability.

# TWO: IMPROVE KNOWLEDGE

2 Some house officers are confused when to request for GSH and GXM, which can
affect the blood availability for patient during urgent cases.

# THREE: REDUCE COST & WASTAGE

3 Rampantly requesting for GSH and GXM test without proper indications, can lead
to reagents wastage and increases MLTs workload which can negatively affect
other urgent request completion time

The aim of this survey is to establish


the knowledge and understanding of
blood transfusion service among
healthcare workers and to identify
education needs to improve staffs
knowledge.
