 Background of the Study
The finding that shows some L2 learners cannot get good
writing achievement because of the different self-efficacy and
gender among L2 learners

The previous finding that shows between male and female

result the different writing achievement

The investigation about the learners’ self-efficacy in writing

skill toward their achievement is lacking
 Research Questions

How strong does self-efficacy influence the writing achievement of

the learners?

Is there any difference in self efficacy according to gender in

writing class?

Is there any difference in writing achievement according to gender

in writing class?
 The Objective of the Study

1. To investigate how strong self-efficacy influences the writing

achievement of the learners

2. To investigate whether there are any differences in self efficacy

according to gender in writing class

3. To investigate whether there are any differences in writing

achievement according to gender in writing class
 Limitation of Study
The limitation of the study was the strength of the influence in
writing achievement of the learners and the difference in self-
efficacy and in achievement according to gender in writing. Their
different styles, qualities, and experience were the weaknesses.
 Definition of Key Term
1. Self efficacy is the individuals’ assessment of their capabilities
to organize and execute actions required to achieve successful
levels of performance. Self-efficacy makes a difference in how
people feel, think, and act.
Writing is a form of expressions that allows ideas, thoughts,
feelings, and sense making of the world to be communicated. It
covers some aspects (grammar, choice of words, vocabulary, unity,
and coherence)
Writing achievement is the result/ the successfulness of doing/
expressing those things (ideas, thoughts, feeling, and sense
making of the world)
