Definition of DRUGS

Drugs are objects

Use Drugs
A. Pulvis (powder)
It is a dry mix
ingredients or
chemicals are mashed,
intended for oral
administration or for
external use.
This drugs often used
in a manner polished
in problem areas.
B. Pulveres
A powder which is divided into more or
less the same weight, wrapped in packaging
material suitable for a drink.
This powder drug used to drink in a way
diluted with water.
C. Tablets (Compressi)

water)
• Sublingual Tablets: Used to put the tablet
under the tongue (not pass through the liver)

purpose of the drug

O. Injectiones (Injection)
It is a sterile dosage
form solutions,
emulsions or
suspensions or powder
should be dissolved or
suspended before

be administered to
patients who can not
take medication by
mouth.
Various effects of the drug
• Systemic effects are obtained effects of drugs circulate throughout the
body via the bloodstream.

• Local effects are effects that only occur in a place where drugs are used.

• Therapeutic effect is the effect or action which is the only one on the
primary site

• Side effects are the unwanted effects of the drug for the purpose of
therapeutic effect and did not participate in the therapeutic usefulness.

• Teratogens effect is the effect of the drug in which the Therapeutic doses
can lead to defects in the fetus.

• Toxic effects of additional action is heavier than the envelope sender
