 Within this lesson plan students will learn


about two great inventors known as Leonardo
da Vinci and Alexander Bell.
 The students will learn about each individual
inventor it’s achievements, culture, and
marks on our society.
 Student’s will complete an assignment
creating their own inventions and relating it
to the inventor’s they learned about.
 (2) 4.2- Ask questions to gain understanding of important
information in a text. (NS 4.2.3)
 Objective: Students will be able to discuss about the
countries cultures and inventions of the inventors
Leonardo de Vinci and Alexander Bell.
 (2) 2.1- Examine historical/ cultural context, eg., observe
works of art within their cultures, times, or places. (NS
4.3.2)
 Objective: Students will be able to recall or recognize
information in regards great inventors Leonardo da Vinci
and Alexander Bell. Their individual cultures and
advancements that contributed to today’s world.
 Multicultural Goal is to develop multiple
historical perspectives.
 Objective: Students will be able to develop a
broader cultural history sense. Relate to
other cultures, and summarize the
importance of the inventions that Leonardo
da Vinci and Alexander Bell contributed to
our cultures.
 For this lesson we will be using Visual,
Auditory and Kinesthetic leaning styles.
 The Howard Gardner’s Intelligences In use
will be;
 Linguistic Intelligence- Students will be able
to discuss thoughts and understanding
relating to the lesson.
 Interpersonal Intelligence- Students will be
able recognize and appreciate others
perspectives.
 Power point presentation introducing
inventors.
 The book, “The Top Ten Inventions.” by
Gerry Bailey.
 Handout activity sheet, “My Great
Invention.”
 This is a two hour lesson plan broken into two days.
 On day one I will introduce the book “The Top Ten Inventors.”
 I will briefly explain to the students that this is a two day lesson plan and on
our first day we will be learning about Leonardo Da Vinci’s inventions and his
country of birth.
 During the power point lesson plan I will be asking questions in regards the
material being read to keep students engaged.
 We will relate each individual invention to today's technology and if its still in
use.
 We will relate to the cultures, food, history and locate the country on a world
map.
 During the power point I will be asking questions in regards the slide
previously viewed and answer any question before moving ahead.
 Day two will be exactly like day one, but we will be learning about Alexander
Graham Bell his inventions, culture, history and country of birth.
 At the end of this lesson the students will be given an assignment to work in
groups of three instructions will be on the power point and will be discussed as
well.
 Student’s will be asked to recall what they
learned on day one and two.
 Student’s will be asked to name something
they learn in regards each individual
inventor.
 Student’s will be asked about the importance
of the inventions reviewed.
 Student’s will be asked what they like the
most about the inventors and their cultures.
 Student’s will be asked to recall historical fact
learned.
 Student’s will be assessed based on the work “My Great Invention” sheet.
 They will also be assessed bases on participation, involvement and
clarification during closure questions.
