LASHING PROCEDURE
Based on International Maritime Organization (IMO) Cargo Stowage and Securing Code of Safe Practice,
PT Dewata Freight International will follow regulations as follows :
1. The maximum securing load (MSL) or maximal load pull from lashing may not be more than 100 kN
and it should be derived from material which has good elasticity power.
2. Lashing construction should observe the distance between points, so that, it makes easier access for
lashing workers. It is required provided that in operation, factually, lashing tension is reducted and it
should be tensioned or conversely.
3. Lashing point may be used only for 1 lashing material. Two or more lashing materials is not allowed to
fasten at 1 lashing point.
4. Lashing material may be fastened at lashing point according to its purpose. For instance, lashing point
purposed for ratchet it may not be used for chains. Because shape and strength of lashing point is
different according to its purpose.
5. The corner shaped between lashing material and plain area of bed truck or deck barge may not be
smaller or larger. Ideally, it is between 30° - 60°.
6. Length of lashing material from lashing point at cargo to lashing point on bed truck or deck barge is
not more than 2,5 meter.
19
LASHING CALCULATION
Equation used for calculating total lashing points as follows
(GM x 10 x 1,2) / n = 100
(GVMx10x1.2)/n = 100
GVM = 144 Ton
n = 17
Number of securing points that we need is minimum 17 lashing points

MOORING PROCEDURE
1. Barge should had the mooring line to support discharging activity in order to there is
not ramp door’s movement due wave, tide tidal, wind or equipment movement on
board
2.The mooring line banded on the bollard pile at both of left and right side of Barge
3. Minimum 6 (four) mooring line and bollard pile to ensure there is no ramp door’s
movement when discharging activity
4. Ideal angle of mooring line is 40º
5. Mooring line installation should not too saggy or too fasten (flexible to movement)
6. To ensure the strength of mooring line then the barge should be assisted by
additional Tug Boat min. 2x700 Horse Power.
