The LOCK switch maximizes the vehicle's driving power on rough surfaces, off-road, steep slopes, and sandy
or muddy roads.

Pressing the LOCK switch turns on the 4WD LOCK lamp on the dashboard. The ITM 4WD ECU then magnetizes the EMC coil within the
4WD coupling to its maximum level and locks the front/rear power distribution ratio at 50:50.

performance. The system switches to AUTO mode when the vehicle exceeds 40 km/h. When this occurs, the dashboard lamp stays on.

The ECU controls (duty controls) the current flowing to the EMC coil to transfer the optimum amount of torque to the rear
wheels.
Narration
When the driver engages the multi-plate clutch, the EMC adjusts power distribution ratio between the front and rear wheels
changes from 100:0 to 50:50.
If the EMC coil malfunctions, the system switches to the default 2WD mode. The spec resistance of the EMC is 2.4 Ω ± 0.2
at 25 degrees.
