Abstract

The main objective of this project is to develop a Home automation

System Using Arduino Uno Board and Node MCU. As technology is
advancing so houses are also getting smarter. Modern houses are
gradually shifting from conventional switches to centralized control
system, involving remote controlled switches. Presently, Convectional wall
switches located in different parts of the house make it difficult for the user
to go near them to operate. Even more it become more difficult for the
elderly or physically handicapped people to do so. Home automation
system provides a modern solution with smartphones.

Components Description
Arduino Uno The Arduino UNO is a widely used
open-source microcontroller board based on the
ATmega328P microcontroller and developed by
Arduino. The board is equipped with sets of digital
and analog input/output (I/O) pins that may be
interfaced with other circuits. The board features
14 Digital pins and 6 Analog pins. It is
programmable with the Arduino IDE (Integrated
Development Environment).
Components Description
Node mcu The NodeMCU(Node MicroController Unit) is an
open source software and hardware development
environment that is built around a very
inexpensive System-on-a-Chip (SoC) called the
ESP8266.

The ESP8266, contains all crucial elements of the

modern computer: CPU, Memory, networking
(wifi), and even a modern operating system and
SDK.

Self Maintenance
Conclusion
● Home automation using Internet of Things has been practically proven by
connecting simple appliances to it .
● Appliances were successfully controlled remotely through internet.
● System not only monitors the sensor data, like temperature, gas, light,
motion sensors, but also process according to the requirement.
● Stores the sensor parameters in the cloud (Gmail)in a timely manner which
help the user to analyze the condition .
