Management
in Construction of
Gautam Buddha International
Airport

30thJune, 2018
Scope of Study
 Airfield area ( Apron , Taxiway and Runway)
of Gautam Buddha International Airport.
Introduction
 Gautam Buddha International Airport  second international
airport  ADB Funding  project under  Rastriya Gaurav
Aayojana  Consultant BDA Nepal (in association with Yooshin
Engineering Co-operation Korea )  Chinese contractor Northwest
Civil Aviation Airport Construction Group and the Nepali sub-
contractor Northwest Infra Nepal

 Airport projects  very complex  face a number of challenges 

inevitably expose them to risks.

 Consequences of Risk

 Cost overrun

 Time overrun

 Operation defect and threat to flight

Need and Importance
 Construction sites of the airport  very
important.
 Risk starts on the ground goes up into
the air and ends on the ground.
 Any accident due to construction and
management inconsistency  the giant
hazards and financial loss.
Problem Statement
 If the identified risks are not properly
assessed and managed during construction
phase, there is chance of noncompliance
with the certification system before
operation as well as high probability of
accidental hazard during operation.
Objective :
 to identify different types of risk associated with
construction of Gautam Buddha International
Airport.
 to prioritize those identified risk during
construction and then its assessment .
 to identify the Mitigation and Control measures
for highly prioritize risk during construction
phase and prepare a Risk Control Plan for it.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
