RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION
WHAT IS RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION
The presence or depositions of radioactive materials
such as caesium-137, strontium-90, plutonium-238 and
uranium-235 in the atmosphere defined as radioactive
pollution. Radioactive materials are consists of many
instability of the particles that can destroy human life,
plant and animal because of its emissions of hazardous
ionizing radiation.
TYPES OF RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION
Types of contamination always come from uranium
mines, nuclear reactors, and testing laboratories,
Continuous pollution where radioactive pollutants are always present

The types of pollutants that occur during nuclear

Occasional pollution tests or during experimental testing on radioactive
materials.
The type of pollution that occurs when certain
experiments involving hazardous materials fail, and
Accidental pollution materials used for experiments can not be
controlled.
THE IMPACT OF THIS POLLUTION
EFFECTS TO HEALTH
Impact of short-term health effects of radiation exposure.
• Cutaneous radiation injury (CRI)
• Acute radiation syndrome

Impact of long-term health effects of radiation exposure

• Prenatal radiation exposure
• Cancer
• Mental health
EFEECT TO ENVIRONMENT
• The plant will not grow and function normally because
radioactive substance lead to genetic mutations that
cause the plant to die.
• Radioactive substances in the soil react together with
various nutrients that lead to the destruction of these
nutrients, resulting in fertile and highly toxic soil.
• Flora and fauna are also damaged by the observed
patterns of growth in various plant and animal species.
EFFECT TO HUMAN SOCIETY
• 30 kilometers from the source or place of radioactive pollution
can not be inhabited by humans and that placed under
military control.
• Either on site at the time of the explosion or engaged in early
cleaning operations were confirmed suffering from Acute
Radiation Syndrome (ARS).
• The people in the area have experienced fatalism which is
paralyzing the consequences of myths and misconceptions
about radiation threats, which have contributed to the chronic
dependence culture
SOLUTIONS OF RADIOACTIVE
POLLUTION
RADIOACTIVE WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD
Radioactive waste still has radiation levels. Therefore, it
can not be disposed of in the same way as regular
waste. It can not be burned or buried. Due to possible
seepage, this residue should be stored in heavy and
thick concrete containers. Another option is to dilute
the radiation because storage may not be possible.
Since there is no easy way to dispose of radioactive
material, professional help should always be sought.
STORE THE MATERIALS IN A RIGHT WAYS
It is mandatory for containers that carry radioactive
materials to be properly stored. For starters, such
materials should be stored in a radiation proof
container to ensure no seepage or leakage during
handling. Proper storage means harmless and can
minimize accidental leakage cases.
BANNING OF NUCLEAR TESTS
It has been proven that nuclear power has a lot of
destructive latent powers. However, the tests
performed to perfect the energy contribute to the
overall presence of radioactive material. In addition,
these tests even in the desert eventually escaped from
one ecosystem to another which ultimately affects the
lives of many.
THE DO’S AND DON’TS NEAR RADIOACTIVE PLACE
• Do’s
 Be Informed and Informed on Medical X-ray.
 Use a Respirator or Face Mask.
 Knowing All Radiation Exposure Resources.

• Don’ts
 Do not touch any structure or plant.
 Do not sit on the ground or place your camera tripod there.
 Do not take items from the zone, do not eat outdoors.
