WHAT IS TIME?
 Time is the fourth dimension in space.
 Time exist as a block, quiet unlike our psychology
perception of time.
 Time is relative, it slows down for moving particles.
WHAT IS NATURE OF TIME?

 Time is used to relate

events.
 We define two actions as
simultaneous when we
see the two actions at the
same time.
TIME TRAVEL:
 By traveling fast, namely with the speed of light, time
will slow down for us, while continuing at a normal pace
elsewhere. Theoretically, calculations could be made to
jump to a specific time and point in the future. It is also
known that gravity slows down time as well. We know
that time goes by faster in space than here on earth,
because we are closer to the earth and the earth’s
gravitational pull.

 If we want to travel into the future, we just need to go
fast. Really fast. And I think the only way we're ever
likely to do that is by going into space. The fastest
manned vehicle in history was Apollo 10. It reached
25,000mph. But to travel in time we'll have to go more
than 2,000 times faster. And to do that we'd need a much
bigger ship, a truly enormous machine. The ship would
have to be big enough to carry a huge amount of fuel,
enough to accelerate it to nearly the speed of light.
Getting to just beneath the cosmic speed limit would
require six whole years at full power.
GRAVITATIONAL FORCE’S EFFECT ON
TIME:
 Gravitational force slows down the time.
 For example, the clock moves faster at higher floors of
the building as compared to lower floors. The reason
behind is solely the gravitational force.
 We know that time goes by faster in space than here on
earth, because we are closer to the earth and the earth’s
gravitational pull. Subsequently, time in a submarine
goes by even slower than those on land, for the same
reason.
TIME MACHINE:
 According to H.G.Wells in his composition “The Time
Machine”, a time machine is a device which can take us
from present to past or future.
TIME TRAVEL THROUGH BLACK HOLE:
A Black Hole is a dead star with infinite density
which can curb both space and time. It represents the
ultimate time warp, and at the surface of the hole time
stands still relative to the earth. This means if an
astronaut falls into the black hole and comes out
unscathed (though this is impossible) he will jump
ahead into the future. Now the question that arises in
our mind is how can we create a Time Machine?
CONTINUED…
 Time travel can be made possible in two ways, one
is through speed and the other one is through
gravity. Achieving speed even nearer to that of light
is a daunting challenge in itself. Unfortunately we
are still miles away from achieving such height in
speed. Gravity may be a relatively usable raw
material. In his general theory of relativity, Einstein
predicted that gravity slows time. Clocks run a bit
faster in higher floors of a building than in the
basement, which is closer to the center of the earth.
BLACK HOLES: WHAT ARE THEY?
 Black holes are the evolutionary endpoints of stars at least 10
to 15 times as massive as the Sun. If a star that massive or
larger undergoes a supernova explosion, it may leave behind a
fairly massive burned out stellar remnant. With no outward
forces to oppose gravitational forces, the remnant will
collapse in on itself. The star eventually collapses to the point
of zero volume and infinite density, creating what is known as
a " singularity ". Around the singularity is a region where the
force of gravity is so strong that not even light can escape.
Thus, no information can reach us from this region. It is
therefore called a black hole, and its surface is called the "
event horizon
BLACK HOLES: HOW THEY LOOK LIKE?
THERMAL IMAGES OF BLACK HOLES:
TIME TRAVEL THROUGH WORMHOLE:
 Worm hole would act as shortcut connecting distant
region of space time.
 By going through worm hole it might be possible to
travel between two regions almost equivalent to
universal speed limit(speed of light beam) through
normal space time.
WORM HOLES: WHAT ARE THEY?
 Wormholes are spheres, although represented as 3D tunnels in
embedded diagrams.
 They are caused by gravitational forces described by a metric.

 They are tunnels through space-time.

WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE?
TIME DILATION:
 Suppose Sally and Sam are twins. Sally boards a high
speed rocket and sets out to travel around the universe.
She returns to earth after one year and finds her brother
Sam is now nine years older than she is! That is to say
Sally has leaped nine years into earth’s future! Mind
boggling isn’t it? This unusual phenomenon is caused
due to an effect called “Time Dilation” which occurs
when two observers move relative to each other close to
the speed of light.
CONTINUED TIME DILATION:

 That rotation leads to time dilation implies that a

possible “Time Machine” could be a high powered dryer.
THE TWIN PARADOX:
 One twin leaves the earth  Answer: one has a curved
and travels into space on world line, the other
a space ship (a fast one) doesn't.
and the other stays
behind. The space twin is
younger than the earth
twin when he returns.
 why?
HOW TIME & TIME TRAVEL RELATED
 Special & General Relativity given by
Albert Einstein.

In simple words-

"When you sit with a nice girl for two hours,

it seems like two minutes.
When you sit on a hot stove for two minutes,
it seems like two hours; that's
relativity.“

 Fun Fact: It took Einstein only 8 weeks to

come up with special relativity.

LIMITATIONS:

 It is merely possible to reach the UNIVERSAL SPEED

LIMIT,i.e. the speed of light(3*10^8 m/s).
 Backups are not bootable.

 Backups are not secure.

FUTURE ASPECTS:
 We have now discussed one theory on time travel to the
future. By traveling fast, namely the speed of light, time
will slow down for us, while continuing at a normal pace
elsewhere. Theoretically, calculations could be made to
jump to a “specific time and point in the future”.
