• We use a person or object +’s to indicate possession.

Ex.
 Whose bag is this? It’s Mary’s bag.
 Is this Mary’s bag? Yes, it is/ No, it isn’t.

• With regular plural words and ending in ‘s’, put the apostrophe without
the ‘s’.
Ex.
 These are my brothers’ bedrooms.
 My parents’ names are Leo and Elizabeth.
• With irregular plural forms, put the apostrophe + ‘s’ as customary.
Ex.
 Their children’s names are Peter and Jane.
 The men’s clothes are dirty.

• With people’s names ending in‘s’, put the apostrophe + ‘s’ as customary
or just an apostrophe without the s.
Ex.
 Charles’s wife or Charles’ wife
 Nicolas’s brother or Nicolas’ brother
