The HXP is broken into two main parts
The motion detection section
And the island section
TRM RSI
RYD
CPU
16
The RYD (RELAY DRIVE MODULE) is responsible for supplying 12
volts to the MDR terminals which in turn drive the XR
The RYD also filters the B12 and N12 coming into the box and converts
it to 5 VDC for the other modules
17
The CPU(CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT) is the caretaker of the entire
system, It watches for signal level changes(trains)
It also looks for any entries you might make to the keypad
18
The RSI(RANDOM SIGNATURE ISLAND) makes up the entire island
section and is responsible for generating, amplifying, transmitting and
receiving the island frequency to and from the rails
It does this on the same set of leads that the TRM uses

TYPICAL INSTALLATION
The HXP is applied to the rails The transmitter leads must be
over four wires R1,T1,R2 and on the short or bungalow side
T2.Usually solid No 6 wire. of the crossing

TYPICAL INSTALLATION
The HXP is a constant current This is how we can detect a
device. When the train is change in voltage or RX
shunting on top of the leads. level.
There is the same current coming
out of the box as when no train is
present.
