Director
Reports to VP of Student Affairs

Responsibilities
• Provide vision and leadership for the Liberal Arts
Career Center
• Develop innovative methods to engage students,
staff, faculty, employers and alumni in career center
programs
• Maintain up to date knowledge on career
development theories and trends
• Understand current issues in business, industry,
non-profit organizations, government and education
• Oversee all aspects of the Liberal Arts Career
Center’s operation including development, financial
management, program development and recruiting
and supervising staff
• Ability to collaborate with academic and student
affairs staff in various departments
Director
Reports to: The Vice President of Student Affairs

Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s degree- emphasis in College Student
Affairs, Counseling, or Business Administration.
• 5-6 Years experience in administration of a
student services unit in a higher education setting
• Understanding of career development theory,
assessment, job search trends and strategies and
recruitment practices.
Preferred Qualifications
• Ph.D, Ed.D or Ed.S emphasis in College Student
Affairs, Counseling, or Business Administration.
• 8 Years of progressively responsible experience in
a career services setting
• Demonstrable experience in program development
and assessment
Graduate Career Advisor
Reports to: the Director

Responsibilities
• Assists advanced students studying liberal arts
disciplines in career development tasks
• Aids students in identifying career opportunities in
both education and private industry
• Develops programs and strategies to enhance
career planning and work-life balance issues for
post-baccalaureate students
• Serves as the center’s primary faculty liaison
Graduate Career Advisor
Reports to: the Director

Minimum Qualifications
• Ph.D, Ed.D or Ed.S degree by time of hire
• Teaching and graduate mentoring experience
• Knowledge of the academic hiring cycle;
experience on search committees
• Insight on academic culture and issues
Preferred Qualifications
• Ph.D, Ed.D or Ed.S emphasis in College Student
Affairs, Counseling, or a Liberal Arts discipline
• Extensive publication, committee and national
organization experience
Career Counselor
Reports to: the Director

Responsibilities:
• Conducts individual career advising and job search
coaching for undergraduate students
• Acts as a liaison to students, alumni, and faculty
to liberal arts career services
• Develops career related programs and activities
• Coordinates training for graduate assistants in
career counseling and student affairs
• Assesses and evaluates programs
• Teaches introductory career planning class
• Provides walk-in advising as required
Career Counselor
Reports to: the Director

Minimum qualifications:
• Master’s degree at time of appointment; -
emphasis in College Student Affairs or Counseling
related field.
• Two years of related professional experience in
career development, counseling or higher education
with an emphasis on student advising
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in program planning and design
Preferred qualifications
• Previous experience in career services
• Experience with both pen and paper and computer
based career assessments
Employer Relations Coordinator
Reports to: the Director

Responsibilities
Reports to: the Director
• Assists career counselors in providing job search
coaching for undergraduate students
• Coordinates training for graduate assistants in
MBA, Human Resources and Student Affairs
programs
• Oversees the career center’s online job board
• Presents job and professional development
related workshops and seminars
• Plans and implements job and graduate school
fairs
Employer Relations Coordinator
Reports to: the Director

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Counseling or
Human Resources
• Two years experience in Career Services or
Corporate Recruiting
• Excellent presentation skills and superior verbal
and written communication skills required
• Power networker-able to develop and maintain
business and educational relationships
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree at time of appointment; -
emphasis in College Student Affairs, Career
Counseling, Human Resources or related field.
• Experience with university online job posting
services such as CSO or MonsterTrak
