?What is Cloud Computing

12/08/21 02:33 3
Cloud Computing Definitions:-

Cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared

resources, software, and information are provided to computers
and other devices on demand, like the electricity grid
Cloud Computing is the transformation of IT from a product to
a service
A cloud is a data center hardware & software that the vendors
use to offer the computing resources and services
IaaS – Infrastructure as a Service
PaaS – Platform….
…SaaS – Software

To Qualify as a Cloud
*Common, Location-independent, Online Utility on Demand
Common implies multi-tenancy, not single or isolated tenancy
Utility implies pay-for-use pricing
on Demand implies ~infinite, ~immediate, ~invisible scalability

Cloud computing
?

12/08/21 02:33 10
What Makes the Cloud
?Compelling
Since the IBM PC was introduced

Processor speed has risen 30 per cent per year -

Memory capacity grown by 50 per cent per year -

Mass storage mushroomed 80 per cent per year -

Desktop systems are burdened with too much state -

File system technology has not addressed new needs -

Governance of critical data falls short of rising demands -

ERP with cloud computing
Enterprise Resource Planning is designed for small
and medium business to businesses (B2B/SMB). It
is a Total Web-based Business Management
System, using Web 2.0, Web Service, SOA, AJAX,
XML, Java, and SaaS 2.0 technologies to provide
users with the highest security and data access
performance via Internet browsers. BScaler ERP
also called One Business Solution or Enterprise
Resource Manager (ERM)

computing
 Automates G/L transactions following GAAP standards (debit, credit, etc.)
 Records transactions into balance sheet and income statement
 Gives Executives the real time Dashboard for business activity monitoring
(BAM)
 Reports Profit & Loss (P & L) per Project, Department or Business Unit
 Allows CPA processing your taxes with a few clicks from the browser
 Puts transactions into history for audit trails
 Enables your Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and SAS-70 compliance
 Makes new information available immediately, 24x7
 Provides current financial information in excel format at anytime
 Processes all transactions in real time
 Lets every appropriate user share info (after security level authentication)
 Protects information with role-based login IDs — over 30 roles for high
security

Why would anyone want to rely on another
computer system to run programs and store
?data

12/08/21 02:33 24
:Here are just a few reasons
Clients would be able to access their
applications and data from anywhere at any
.time
They could access the cloud computing system
using any computer linked to the Internet. Data
wouldn't be confined to a hard drive on one
user's computer or even a corporation's internal
.network

12/08/21 02:33 25
.It could bring hardware costs down-

Cloud computing systems would reduce the need for advanced

hardware on the client side. You wouldn't need to buy the
fastest computer with the most memory, because the cloud
system would take care of those needs for you. Instead, you
could buy an inexpensive computer terminal. The terminal
could include a monitor, input devices like a keyboard and
mouse and just enough processing power to run the
middleware necessary to connect to the cloud system. You
wouldn't need a large hard drive because you'd store all your
.information on a remote computer

12/08/21 02:33 26
Corporations that rely on computers have to make
sure they have the right software in place to
.achieve goals
Cloud computing systems give these organizations
company-wide access to computer applications. The
companies don't have to buy a set of software or
software licenses for every employee. Instead, the
company could pay a metered fee to a cloud
.computing company

12/08/21 02:33 27
Servers and digital storage devices take up
.space
Some companies rent physical space to store
servers and databases because they don't have
it available on site. Cloud computing gives
these companies the option of storing data on
someone else's hardware, removing the need
.for physical space on the front end

12/08/21 02:33 28
.Corporations might save money on IT support
Streamlined hardware would, in theory, have
fewer problems than a network of
.operating systems heterogeneous machines and

Cloud Computing Applications
The applications of cloud computing are
practically limitless. With the right middleware,
a cloud computing system could execute all the
programs a normal computer could run.
Potentially, everything from generic word
processing software to customized computer
programs designed for a specific company could
.work on a cloud computing system

Insurance brokers are getting
innovative
Some of the most successful insurance agencies and
brokerages, like Aon and Wells Fargo Insurance
Services, innovate in the cloud. But salesforce.com isn’t
.just for the big brokers
Brokers of all sizes, such as boutique agencies Costello &
Sons and Signature Personal Insurance, leverage the
same enterprise-class platform to manage their
customer relationships with ease and flexibility in the
cloud

Improve your organization’s health
with cloud computing
Is traditional software keeping you from adapting to
changing demands? Are manual processes making you
less competitive? When faced with similar challenges,
Care stream Health, Kaiser Permanente,
Rehab Care Group and Solvay , moved to the cloud.
They’re now using Sale force CRM and Force.com to
grow their top-line revenue and shrink their operating
.costs
Leading healthcare and life sciences organizations
everywhere are turning to salesforce.com. They’re
exchanging the headaches managing hardware and
:software for real business outcomes, including

Stronger Client Relationships Start with Salesforce CRM

Few industries place a higher premium on strong client
relationships than banking… so why can’t banks seem to get
customer relationship management (CRM) technology that
actually works? Today, some of the world’s most successful
commercial and retail banks use Salesforce CRM to strengthen
.those critical client relationships
With Salesforce CRM, relationship managers and product
specialists at banks like SunTrust and
BOK Financial Corporation work more closely than ever before
.to offer higher levels of service and cross-sell more effectively

Retail

Less Cost, More Customer Focus, Better Store

Management

Top retailers like The Häagen-Dazs Shoppe

Company, Starbucks, and Papa Murphy’s are
growing store sales, keeping customers, and
winning new ones… even in these uncertain
times. Their secret? Salesforce CRM

Trust Levels and Considerations
Trust in cloud computing is an unresolved issue among
government IT decision makers. While more
respondents (40 percent) trust than distrust (28 percent)
cloud computing, it would be wrong to conclude the
model has attained a solid level of trust. Nearly a third
of respondents are neutral or undecided regarding their
trust of cloud computing. Therefore while 40 percent of
respondents say they trust cloud computing, 60 percent
do not. Six percent responded they “do not trust cloud
computing at all,” which is twice as many who
.responded they “trust completely

..…Future view
We expect to see, by 2012, [20 to 25 per cent] of“
the server market will be running some version
of cloud computing…
“Right now, as much as 14 percent of server
purchases are going into some sort of cloud
”.deployment
