Alarm Center Relocation Plan
Overview
Ensuring a safe, secure and healthy working atmosphere in SCB is an
important aspect for preventing uncertainty, threat and risk to its
resources Physical, Human, Financial and Informational. Alarm Center
acts as a ‘One Stop Solution for Security Services’ to its customer.
Based on business needs, various incident and incidental records and
user feedback SRM team has already decided to relocate Alarm Center
in SCB House for providing a user friendly security support to its
employees/customers for smooth security operation.

Relocating Alarm Center successfully without breaching its service


excellence to SCB House is one of the most important challenge. To
mitigate the challenge Four Steps processes have been initiated for
relocating Alarm Center.
Steps for relocating Alarm Center
Regular Activities of Alarm Centre:
• Monitoring (24x7)
– Danger and Risks Management System (DRMS-MM8000)
– Access Control System (ACS-SiPass) and Bio Access System(BAS)
– Remote Video System (RVS) and Remote Monitoring Center (RMC)
• Processing Access Requests (Daily average 35+)
 Processing Premises & Switch Accesses (Mail, Ticket, SMS)
 Updating Switch Pass Extensions
• Monitoring the issues of safety, security, uncertainties and risks
affecting SCB Interests
• Action on any Occurrence/Incident affecting SCB interests
• Providing Emergency Safety & Security Supports to SCB
concerns/sites
• Conducting Accidental, Incidental and Fire Risks, Safety,
Security, Investigation (If Assigned)
Regular Activities of Alarm Centre:

• Generating & Submitting Reports (Daily, Weekly, Monthly


& Yearly)
• Updating Weekly ‘On Call Security’ roster or any
instructions to the assigned SCB sites
• Collecting and Disbursing OK Reports (Ensuring all
assigned SCB sites are all right)
• Maintaining Operational Database
• Managing Fire Extinguishers for Fire Hazard Free SCB
Premises
• To Communicate, Coordinate with other Operational Wings
of the organization as required
• Generating SMS (If Required)
• Administer the CR, ERT & Traffic Operation
Additional Activities of Alarm Centre:
– Disaster & Emergency Situation Monitoring
– (Flood, Cyclone, Earthquake etc. Ref: Flood 2007, SIDR
2007, NARGIS 2008, National Election 2008)
– Vehicle Management (Parking & Key Management)
– Emergency OK report (if required)
– Admin Yellow Page Development & Update
– Ensure fire safety & security of all SCB premises (Office &
Vehicles) through portable fire extinguisher.
– Emergency Support (i.e. medical, transport, guest house etc)
– News Monitoring & Reporting

Recommendations

Most of the out panels are not functioning


smoothly as those out panels have been
running continuously about four years. In
accordance with IT policy, the expected life
cycle of a computer is 4 years.
Recommendations

Considering the space available in BMS Room and SCB House


Standard, Alarm Center requires below mention equipments and
software for cost effective operational need:
•6 CPU highly configured with 6 LCD Monitor 21”
•Remote connection for ACS and FDS to at least 2 Alarm Center
Employees with more authority
•Multi IP enabled Video Reception Software for Tele Eye
•3 desks with power and LAN connection
•6 power and LAN connection port for the mentioned systems
operation.
•1 PABX connection
•1 Television with dish connection for news monitoring.
•8 locker
Recommendations

Security System & Operation concern will provide


necessary support and take actions required to ensure:

IT will provide and install those CPU to BMS Room in SCB


House.
Siemens and ICEL will configure those systems to be fully
operational. Next, we will hand over old PCs to IT.
Power and LAN connections are established before
installing the systems.

Necessary coordination is required with:

Operation & Maintenance, PFS
Vendors (Siemens and ICEL)
