employees located at company headquarters in Mumbai , 30% of the

 The HR department is a strategic function at
Amber Ltd. The function is headed by the
Executive Director (HR) who is also a member of
the organization's strategic planning team.

 Thetotal strength of staff in the HR department at


headquarters is 70.

 Mr Patel was appointed as the Director,


performance and career management group in
1996.

 He found that the firm continued to use a


traditional performance appraisal system.
 The appraisal form consisted the job factors
and the behavioural factors.
 It was filled up by the superior and signed by
the subordinate in the presence of the superior.
