• Yes, I am well known within the community
for my involvement in Church activities for

example: I conduct workshops and train


women in various skills. I am also a Union
leader at Luanshya Municipal Council, I am
a vice chairperson of Zambia Union of Local
Authority workers (ZULAWU).

• Women in the community and at my workplace
are now ready for projects to empower
LEADERSHIP

themselves. At Luanshya Municipal Council we


have introduced, the commemoration of
International Women’s Day and all women and
some men participate.
• We have also formed a club called Tandizo-
meaning ‘Helping’. The club involves both male
and female workers who contribute monies
monthly to help their families when they are sick
and when they have funerals.

SHORT STORY OR ANECDOTE THAT
ILLUSTRATES THE PASSION OF THE
LEADER
• I have among others helped a widow of Mikomfwa
in Luanshya who was a victim of property
grabbing which left the family suffering. I helped
LEADERSHIP

the widow, Ms Safi Kakompe, with some money


to start a business and as at now she is able to
take her children to school and sustain the family
through the same business.
