All about Lady Antebellum
 Lady Antebellum was formed in 2006 in Nashville.
 The members are Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley, and Hillary Scott.
 Charles and Dave were middle school classmate and Charles asked
Dave if he wanted write songs together.
 Then Dave moved to Nashville.
 Kelley recognized Hillary from MySpace at a bar in 2006.
 Dave and Hillary joined Charles and formed a band named Lady
Antebellum.
 They started performing at local clubs in Nashville.
 In 2007 they were signed by Capitol Records Nashville.
 They were awarded Single of the Year for “I Run to You” and Vocal
Group of the Year by Country Music Association in November 2009.
 “I Run to You” and “Lookin’ for a Good Time” were the group’s first
number one singles in July 2009.
 They were nominated for two Grammy Awards at the 51 st Grammy
Awards and two more at the 52nd Grammy Awards. And of these
nominations they were awarded Best Country Performance by Duo
or Group with Vocals for “I Run to You.”
Dave Haywood
 Dave Haywood was born July 5, 1982.
 Dave is background vocals, plays guitar, and piano for the band.
 But perhaps no one’s family has had more widespread influence than
Dave’s.
 Dave’s father invented the nightguard teeth, a method for whitening teeth.
 Dave said, “His father was a rockstar in the dentist world.”
 Haywood’s father taught him how to play a guitar in middle school.
 His mother taught him how to play piano in elementary school.
 Dave explain, “My family’s really musical. They’re kind of like a nerdy
Partridge Family.”
 “Everyone in my family sings, so it all comes directly from them,” said
Haywood.
 Dave is from Georgia and moved to Nashville to write songs with Charles
Kelley.
Charles Kelley
► Charles was born September 11, 1981.
► Kelley was born in Augusta, Georgia.
► Charles Kelley is the brother of pop artist Josh Kelley.
► Charles is lead and background vocals in the band.
► Kelley just got married to longtime girlfriend, publicist Cassie
McConnell.
► Charles and Cassie have new titles of uncle and aunt. Kelley’s brother
Josh and wife Katherine Heigl adopted a baby from South Korea.
► Charles moved to Nashville in mid-2005 from Winston-Salem, North
Carolina where he had been working construction with his brother
John.
► Trying to become a successful solo country artist, he convince his old
middle school classmate Dave Haywood to move to Nashville.
► Kelley ran into Hillary at bar and recognize her from MySpace.
► Charles’ mom brought Charles first drum set and start his love for
music.
► As teenagers, Josh and Charles formed a band called Inside Blue; the
band released a five-song CD.
Hillary Scott
 Hillary Scott was born on April 1,1986 in Nashville.
 Scott is lead and background vocals in the band.
 Hillary was raised up around other artist and writers.
 Her first performance was during her junior year in high school,
when she joined her mother, Linda Davis, for a family Christmas
show at Opryland.
 She was convinced to follow a career in music.
 After high school at Donelson Christian Academy, Scott worked
with singer-songwriter Victoria Shaw and wasn’t able to secure a
contract with a major studio.
 That’s when she met future band members Charles Kelley and later
Dave Haywood.
 She claimed that being part of Lady Antebellum, as to be a solo
artist, lessens the pressure on her on the stage.
 In 2008, she was awarded the Songwriter of the Year by SESAC for
contributions to Lady Antebellum singles “Love Don’t Live Here”
and “Lookin’ for a Good Time.”

 They are going to be on tour with Keith Urban on his Escape
Together World Tour.
 On June 12 they will be at CMA Music fest alongside Jason
Aldean, Jake Owen, and Little Big Town.
 Lady Antebellum is to join Tim McGraw next year.
 Lady Antebellum blends contemporary country with soulful '60s
RB into an infectious modern brew that relies on the trio's rich
harmonies and impeccable instrumental skills.
 The name for Lady Antebellum was inspired by a just-for-fun
photo shoot in vintage southern costumes.
 Lady Antebellum has grown from just friends playing at clubs
and now a big country group hitting the song charts.
 They have record only two albums for their career.

with Vocals in 2010.
• An award for Vocal Group of the Year and the band was awarded
Single of the Year in November 2009 and an award for New Artist
of the Year by Country Music Association in 2008.
• Lady Antebellum has been awarded Top New Duo or Group and
nomination for Top Vocal Group by Academy of Country Music
Awards in 2009.
• A nomination for Video of the Year and Group Video of the Year
and USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year for "Lookin'
for a Good Time“ in 2009 by CMT Awards.
• Nominations for Best Country Song for “I Run to You” and Best
Country Performance by Duo or Group with Vocals for “ Love
Don’t Live Here” and Best New Artist by Grammy Awards in 2009.
