• It is situated at the left
side of thoracic cavity.
It is a highly muscular
organ which pumps the
blood to all over the
body.
• It is triangular in
shape.
• It provides
nourishment to the
whole body and
removes the waste
material.

• Heart is divided into 4
parts i.e. 2 auricles and
2 ventricles.
• Auricles are smaller
and lie above the large
sized ventricles.
• Auricles receives blood
from various parts and
ventricles pump out
the blood to concerned
parts.

• The vessels which carry blood
to various parts and back to
heart are known as blood
vessels
• These are of 3 types:
