Selection and Recruitment Process at

Threads(India)Limited is a part of LOHIA GROUP of companies.TIL is one of the leading manufacturers of Synthetic Sewing Threads in India. Incepted in the year 1989, TIL progressed rapidly under the leadership and with the support of the CEO Mr. Ajay Lohia. It is his positive attitude, commitment to always give the best and in depth industrial knowledge about the thread industry has helped us emerge as an indubitable winner in this sector.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The project titled RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION Undertaken in Threads (India) Limited.TIL is a part of Lohia Group of companies and one of the leading manufacturers of Synthetic Sewing Threads in India. The project report is about recruitment and selection process of Threads (India) Limited, various sources of recruitment followed in Threads (India) Limited and to find the managerial satisfaction level about the selection and recruitment procedure. Recruitment and selection gives a home ground to the organization acumen that is needed for proper functioning of the organization It gives a organizational structure of the company. Its a methodology in which the particular organization works and how a new candidate could be recruited in such a way that he/she would be fitted for the right kind of career. The objective of selection decision is to choose the individual who can most successfully perform the job from the pool of qualified candidates. Selection process or activities typically follow a standard patter, beginning with an initial screening interview and concluding with final employment decision. .

CONCLUSION Recruitment and selection process in software development organizations is a multifaceted task that involves technology parameters along with Human Resource (HR) aspects.After studying the recruitment and selection process of fifty (50) software development organizations, paper suggests an integrated web-based solution. The solution is validated through a case study of Magnon Solutions, India. The software solution developed is an integrated web-based interface for conducting aptitude test, technical interview, HR interview and final interviews on the Internet.

RESEARCH PROBLEM
OBJECTIVES
To critically analyze the recruitment and selection procedure followed in THREADS(INDIA)LIMITED

To study the various sources of recruitment followed in TIL.

To know the managerial satisfaction level about recruitment and selection procedure.

Research Design
The process of designing the framework for the project is the Descriptive Research.

The Descriptive research is chosen because I followed a qualitative study for the recruitment and selection procedure followed in THREADS(INDIA)LIMITED.

Descriptive research is taken because it give statistical information about an event as well as give an idea about how people experienced the event.

Data collection
Primary Data: The required data is collected by using questionnaire method. The primary data collection for his purpose is supposed to be done by convenience sampling. Questionnaire has been formatted in structured way and close ended questions are presented. The questionnaires was carefully designed by taking into account of the parameters of my study.

Secondary Data: By going through various old records of the organization like retention ratio ,employee turnover ratio of the company.

Sampling and Scaling technique


The sampling technique used in this project is the non probability sampling technique.

The method adopted is the convenience sampling method.

The sample size taken for data collection is 30 unit. ( unit denoted the employee of company)

Limitations
The duration of the study was limited and hence elaborate and comprehensive project survey was not undertaken.

Due to the small sample size the accuracy of the information is not cleared.

The respondent is not easily available because of the busy schedule of their work.

Some internal information is available to shared by company members.

Data Analysis
In THREADS( INDIA) LIMITED life insurance most of the employees feel thats the HR department is good. About 75% of the recruiter says that they prefer both internal as well as external source for recruitment and selection. About 65% of the recruiter go for direct recruitment and selection and less number for mangers prefer indirect or third party. Mostly the manpower planning is done Quarterly and 20 % do not follow any pattern they dont have any fixed time. TIL prefers to go for campus interviews and even casual application that are received for recruitment but they hardly prefer placement agencies. Mostly Personal interviews are preferred,30% prefer to take telephonic interviews where as only 20% go for video conferencing and rest 10% adopt some other means of interviews

Conclusion and recommendation


CONCLUSION
This presents the summary of the study and survey done in relation to the Recruitment and Selection in TIL. The conclusion is drawn from the study and survey of the company regarding the Recruitment and Selection process carried out there. Most of the employees were satisfied but changes are required according to the changing scenario as recruitment process has a great impact on the working of the company as a fresh blood, new idea enters in the company.

Selection process is good but it should also be modified according to the requirements and should job profile so that main objective of selecting the candidate could be achieved.

Recommendations
If the manpower requirement is high and the recruitment team of the HR department alone cannot satisfy it, then help from the placement agencies is needed. Time management is very essential and it should not be ignored at any level of the process. The recruitment and selection through placement agencies should be used as the last resort and is utilized only when needed. The recruitment and selection procedure should not to lengthy and time consuming. Expenses for HR Departments are not viewed as investments so it should be taken into priority for better development of selection and recruitment process
