Entrepreneurs can be classified on the following basis TYPES OF BUSINESS STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT AREA GROWTH MOTIVATION USE OF TECHNOLOGY

1.TYPES OF BUSINESS
Industrial entrepreneur- Undertakes manufacturing activities
only.

Trading entrepreneur- Undertakes trading activities;concerned

with marketing.Identify potential markets, stimulate demand for its product line and creates a desire and interest among buyers.

Corporate entrepreneur- Interested in management part of

organisation;exceptional organising and coordinating skills to manage the corporate undertaking.Ex-AMBANI & TATA FAMILY.

Agricultural entrepreneur- Concerned with production and

marketing of agricultural inputs and outputs.ExDAIRY,HORTICULTURE,FORESTRY.

2.STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT
First generation entrepreneur- Innovater,risk
taker,among the first in the family to enter into business.

Modern entrepreneur- who consider feasibility of

businees,which can adapt to change and dynamic market.

Classical entrepreneur- one who give more importance

to consistent returns than growth;concerned about customer need and marketing.

3.AREA
Rural entrepreneur- One who have his industrial set up in rural area and has engaged workers from the same. Urban entrepreneur- One who have his industrial set
up in urban area and has engaged workers from the same.

4.GROWTH
Growth entrepreneur- one who enters into a sector with
high growth rate;is a positive thinker.

Super growth entrepreneur- one who enters a business

and shows a quick,steep and upward growth curve.

5.MOTIVATION
Pure entrepreneur- psychological and economic
rewards motivate him.The main objective is to earn profit.

Induced entrepreneur- incentives,concessions,benefit

offered by government for entrepreneur motivates him.

Spontaneous entrepreneur- born entrepreneur with

inboren traits of cofidence,vision and initiative.they start business by their natural talent.

6.USE OF TECHNOLOGY
Technical entrepreneur- production oriented,possess
innovative skills in manufacturing,quality controls etc. The greatest strength of technical entrepreneur is skill in production technique. Improve goods/services by using innovative technology and concentrate more on production than marketing.

Non-technical entrepreneur- develops marketing,distribution

facilities and strategies.

Professional entrepreneur- uses the proceeds of sale of one

business to start another one,brimming with ideas to start new business.
