Introduction Components
Future Work
Close vessel which convert water into steam Its two types are
Water tube boiler
Fire tube boiler
Water tube boilers Water flows through tubes and hot gas of combustion flows over these tubes
Fire tube boilers Hot product of combustion passes through tubes surrounded by water
Water tube
It require less space Smaller size of tube
Fire tube
More space Large size of tube and
drum Low working pressure due to large size of drum Liable to explosion
Chamber in which fuel is burnt to liberate heat energy It is made up of fire clay Silica Kaolin
These material resist change of shape, weight, or physical properties at high temperatures
Device which rise the temperature of steam above 100 degree centigrade It consists of group of tubes made up of special steel alloys like (chromium-molybdenum) These tubes are heated by the heat of flue gases It increase over all efficiency
to boiler it derive heat from the flue gases. It consists of parallel steel tube. The feed water flows through these tubes. Flue gases flow out side.
Advantages
Fuel economy from 5 to 15 percent 2. Increase boiler efficiency by 10 to 12 percent 3. Reduce temperature stresses in boiler
1.
Disadvantages
Cost of installation is high 2. Maintenance and regular cleaning is expensive 3. Extra floor space is occupied
1.
Extract heat from flue gases and give it to air used for
combustion It consists of group of steel tubes air is heated by flue gas flowing in these tube this rises furnace temperature
Advantages
Increase thermal efficiency 2. Decrease chimney losses 3. Saving of fuel
1.
outlet
Condensed heat is then used as feed water to
economizer
