    DEFINITIONS OF LITERACY

    Literacy have several definitions with different point of views: The ability to write names might indicate a semi-literate society(it means that a society in which some or many people their necessity is in reading and writing simple materials. e.g.: names or short phrases at most, etc. OR The ability of an individual to make any use of writing as a tool for the satisfaction of normal social, business or political requirements, however great or small.

    FINAL DEFINITION
    The condition of quality of being literate especially in reading, writing and usage of sense of humor in any kind of sensible/ knowledge work including comprehension and working skills.

    WORLD LITERACY RATES

    General Literacy:Age 15 and over can read and write. Total Population Literacy: 82% Male Rate: Female Rate: 87% 77%

    Two-thirds of the world's 785 million illiterate adults are

    found in only eight countries (Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Pakistan); of all the illiterate adults in the world. Two-thirds are women; extremely low literacy rates are concentrated in three regions, the Arab states, South and West Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. One-third of the men and half of all women are illiterate (2005 est.).

    PAKISTAN LITERACY RATE


    In Pakistan, the definition of literate is structured

    at the time of Population Census. In the 1998 Population Census, a literate person has been defined as One who can read newspaper and write a simple letter in any language. Literacy Rate: Nearly 54%. Male Rate: 66.25%. Female Rate: 41.75%.

    MY OPINIONS
    For Govt.:
    Govt. should have to take serious concentration on the level of our future/present generation education and inaugurate educational institute in Country specially in Rural Areas. People should also have to take interest in education and also build up their and their children mind for getting education with heart and soul/day and night.

    For Peoples:

    Concluding the subject, Its necessary to pray Almighty

    ALLAH to give us strengthen to accomplished to enhance our goal for literacy, and accept our achievements in the Muslim World. AMEEN!
