Leyte is the Pilot LRED Province in the Visayas under SMEDSEP PSP (2004-2006)

Economic activities in Leyte on a low level and based on natural resources Compared to Negros Occidental and Cebu no dominant sub-sectors in Leyte identified for the promising implementation of a BDS/DDTVET sub-sector approach Public and private sector work little together to promote economic growth Local and Regional Economic Development (LRED) approach seemed to be promising in Leyte in terms of expected 3Page 3
