BACKGROUNDS
Use Shallow DOF (shoot on Aperture priority with an Aperture of f/5.6) Use an INTERSTING ANGLE (birds eye, worms eye) Cropping (GET IN CLOSE)well, as close as you can Walk around the exhibit to get the best view (try to eliminate distractions)
GLASS
If you see glare in glass, you MUST change your angle until you dont see it anymore Carry a cloth to wipe down glass Put your camera on MANUAL focus Press your camera against the glass, focus, and shoot
FENCES
Use a shallow depth of field to blur out the fence
ACTION SHOTS
Try a fast shutter for FREEZE MOTION shots Try a slow shutter when an animal is moving (i.e. when an ape is swinging)
Rest your camera on the side rail so it doesnt movekeep your camera around your neck!
Aperture Priority
Use a shallow DEPTH OF FIELD (like f/4)

Have a circular flower totally balanced in the center of your photo
