The Effect of Cincau Green Leaves (Cyclea barbata) on Triglyceride in Rat Induce Diabetic with Alloxan

 Diabetes is a chronic disease, which occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. This leads to an increased Bulletof glucose in the blood (hyperglycemia) (WHO, point concentration 2010). Bullet point Diabetes divide into two type : Sub Bullet 1. Diabetes Mellitus type 1 or Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus. 2. Diabetes Mellitus type 2 or Non-insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus. In the Diabetes Mellitus Patients, disorder in the function of insulin make disorder in fat metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, and protein metabolism (Arifin, 2010). Patient with DM must be control in the all of lifetime, because it can be worse. One of therapy is herbal medicine.

Background

 One of the herbal medicine is Cincau Green Leaves (Cyclea barbata). Cincau have component chlorophyll. Chlorophyll in cincau is the important component to control DM. Chlorophyll can bind and dissolve bad fat in our body (Hendarmoko, 2009). Cincau works as detoxsificant at hormonal gland and to protect hormonal balance (Nadler, 2000). Chlorophyll can decrease the level of triglyceride in patient with Diabetes Mellitus. Chlorophyll have structure like a hemoglobin, so it can be chlorophyll able to bind and add oxygen composition in blood. Chlorophyll have able to rejuvenation (Limantara, 2009).

Based on background above, researcher formulate the problem : Is giving gel of Green Cincau Leaves can influence the level of triglyceride in the rats with induction of Alloxan?
