What is Instructional Design?

The process by which instruction is improved through the analysis of learning needs and systematic development of learning materials. Instructional designers often use technology and multimedia as tools to enhance instruction. Instructional Designer: an individual who develops the methodology and delivery systems for presenting course content.1 Popular learning theories include: Behaviorism, Cognitivism, and Constructivism.
Behaviorism is based on observable changes. Your mind is a black box. All that matters is the outcome. Cognitivism is interested in why the observable change is taking place. Whats in the black box? Constructivism asserts that individual perspectives and schema shape (or construct) meaning. What is the color black, really? 2. Technology is a vehicle.

75% of students still prefer print textbooks to digital.
